Accessibility

We want everyone to be able to use Marge: with a mouse, keyboard or screen reader, on a large or small screen. Here you can read what we do for that.

Our standard

We build to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA, the standard behind the European accessibility act (EN 301 549). We test with the keyboard, at 360 pixels wide and at 200% zoom.

What we do

Every page has a clear structure with headings, a link to jump straight to the content, a visible focus for anyone working with the keyboard, fields with labels and error messages next to the field itself, enough colour contrast in the light and the dark display, and respect for your device’s ‘reduce motion’ setting. The result of each calculator is read out when it changes.

Reading comfort

With the button showing a little figure at the top of every page, you can choose larger text, more space between lines and letters, a readable font, more contrast, underlined links, less motion or a reading ruler. Your choice is kept on your device.

What isn’t perfect yet

The break-even chart is a drawing. Everything in it is also given as text next to it, in the tally roll.

Let us know

Are you stuck somewhere, or missing something? Let us know via contact@nealvdv.be. We reply within five working days and look for a solution together.

Reading comfort

Make the site easier to read. Your choice is kept on this device.

Text size

Do you prefer to use your device’s settings (zoom, screen reader, dark mode)? Those work here too.
